Projects / Muskoka Lakeside Boathouse
A breezy, whitewashed boathouse designed for cooling down, unwinding, and soaking in lake life.

The companion to the Muskoka main house, this lakeside boathouse was designed as a cool-down escape just steps from the dock. Bright white tongue-and-groove paneling, light furnishings, and a pared-back palette create a breezy, sun-soaked interior that feels like an exhale after a swim.
Unlike the main cottage’s grounded warmth, the boathouse embraces airiness and light. Soft fabrics, woven textures, and unfussy details keep the space approachable and comfortable — the kind of place where wet towels and sandy feet feel right at home. Generous windows and doors open directly to the water, blurring the line between indoors and out.
More than just a storage space for canoes and paddleboards, this boathouse is a true extension of family life on the lake. It’s a space for afternoon naps, quiet reading, and gathering with friends at the water’s edge — proof that even the most utilitarian building can be elevated with thoughtful design.
