Projects / Muskoka Lakefront Main House

A warm, modern Muskoka retreat designed for barefoot weekends, family gatherings, and timeless comfort.

This modern Muskoka cottage was conceived as a true lakefront retreat — warm, durable, and deeply connected to its surroundings. The clients wanted a home that felt inviting for barefoot weekends and big family gatherings, without sacrificing a sense of refinement.

We leaned into natural Muskoka materials — white oak, stone, and poured concrete — to create a palette that feels rooted and timeless. Large windows frame sweeping views of the water, while interiors remain deliberately quiet, with low profiles and horizontal sightlines that extend the eye toward the lake. Every design decision was made to balance modern simplicity with livability: durable finishes, custom millwork for storage, and furniture scaled for hosting.

The result is a cottage that feels effortless but carefully considered, offering the ease of modern living with the soul of a family retreat. For anyone searching for Muskoka interior design that marries function with quiet luxury, this project sets the tone.
